Emma loves the beach, the playground, and dancing but most of all, Emma loves everything princess. Rapunzel is Emma’s favourite because Rapunzel has something Emma hasn’t had a chance to have yet…long hair.

She was only 17 months old when the mass in her abdomen was diagnosed as Stage IV Wilms Tumour, a rare kidney cancer that had metastasized to her lungs. She immediately began 6 months of treatment which included surgery, chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and radiation. After three months of clean scans, Emma relapsed and treatments began again.

For her wish, Emma chose to meet Rapunzel — her most favourite princess of all — on a family trip to Disney World.

Emma’s mom says, “Children’s Wish is all about hope. About happy times for family togetherness. About dreaming for the future, sometimes something that is very hard for a child with a serious illness to do.”

Her Disney trip did just that.

March is Children’s Wish Month! Together, we can grant more wishes and create more moments of joy to children who are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness or have a severe genetic or neurological condition.

There are currently 2,400 approved wishes yet to be granted. We know that even a small donation can have a big impact in the lives of Canadian children diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses.
