Canada’s largest shellfish festival, the Prince Edward Island International Shellfish Festival, is back and taking place September 14–17 in downtown Charlottetown! The four day Festival will be jam packed with culinary delights, including live cooking demos and authentic island experiences hosted by celebrity and local chefs as you experience and celebrate delicious PEI shellfish.
Food Network Canada’s celebrity Chef Lynn Crawford will return to host the weekend celebrations on the main stage with culinary demonstrations daily Friday through Sunday. Food Network Canada’s Chef Chuck Hughes will host the kick off Signature Event, Feast & Frolic presented by the PEI Fishermen’s Association on Thursday, September 14. You won’t want to miss the boat on the event’s new format to “frolic” and mingle and taste the Island tip to tip while meeting local chefs and fishermen, and trying three award-winning chowders. The evening will include roving food stations, a sit-down main course and live entertainment.
Culinary by day, kitchen party by night — featuring the best entertainment Canada has to offer! The Garland Canada International Chef Challenge is also back with a $10,000 cash prize. This year the competition heats up with an all Canadian line up to celebrate Canada 150! Guests can catch all of the live competitions and many other live demos and entertainment on the main stage with over $24,000 in cash being handed out at the Festival over the weekend.
