Collingwood’s Frozen In Time Festival

From December 27 to January 1, Downtown Collingwood will host the annual Ice Sculpture Celebration and Winter Wonderland Village.
The Ice Sculpture Celebration, Canada’s only historic ice sculpture event, will feature more than 30 sculptures throughout downtown Collingwood. Artists use a range of traditional and modern tools to create them from ice blocks, with daily ice carving demonstrations by world renowned ice carvers. As the sun sets, the ice sculptures display their full brilliance with colourful light illuminations.
Winter Wonderland Village is filled with family activities, performances and games. The Village features the Sugar Plum Pavilion, which will play host to arts and crafts, puzzles, a toy station and the ever popular ginger bread house decorating table. Stay warm near the crackling fire while watching the talented performers on Celebration Stage. And get active in Snowflake Central, filled with games of all kinds including traditional street hockey and the famous ice block building area.
The Battle of the Chainsaws on Celebration Stage is the daily highlight at 1.00p.m., featuring competing artists use chain saws to carve statues from blocks of ice, with a few extra twists.
