As we look to the seas in 2015 and beyond, we asked the cruise and travel experts at one of Toronto’s most trusted travel agencies, The Travel Network, to tell us a little about the experience onboard Celebrity Cruises fleet of “modern luxury ships.” Here’s what we heard:
Celebrity Cruises: Signature Event Sailings “Celebrity Cruises offers itineraries that include some of the world’s bucket list events. Our clients love the ability to combine a premium cruising experience with once-in-a-lifetime events”, says Ruby Silvertown of The Travel Network. “It’s the perfect combination of relaxation and rejuvenation with adventure and adrenaline.”
Celebrity travels to the British Open, the Cannes Film Festival, Carnival in Rio de Janeiro, and the Military Tattoo in Scotland. New Signature Event Sailings will include Mardi Gras, the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain; the global commemoration of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death in London and Helsingborg, Sweden (the site of Hamlet’s Castle); and New Year’s celebration in Dubai.
More Overnight Stays “One of my favourite new options with Celebrity Cruises is the addition of even more overnight stays in great cities of the world. They’ve added overnight stays in new cities such as Abu Dhabi, Tokyo, Sydney, Bilbao, Liverpool, and Oslo. For the first time, Celebrity is also offering overnight stays in the Caribbean,” says Silvertown. “These overnights are a great way for travelers to get more into the heart of incredible destinations and experience them both by day and night.”In addition to exploring every continent—a total of 286 ports of call in 80 countries—with its fleet of 10 award-winning ships, Celebrity offers 207 overnight stays in 48 vibrant cities.
The Onboard Experience “Of course the onboard experience is paramount for all our clients,” confirms Silvertown, “Our clients who love Celebrity point to onboard amenities including The Canyon Ranch Spa Club®, activities like the Star Chefs Cooking Competition and the live shows. Onboard dining is also an important element.” Cruisers can choose from up to 12 distinctive restaurants with globally-influenced menus crafted by a James Beard featured chef, and dine when they like thanks to Celebrity Select Dining. “Suite class accommodation with floor to ceiling windows and private butler are a hit too.”
