Canada’s National Ballet School

Dare to Dance!

Canada’s National Ballet School is moving the world by boldly redefining the art of ballet.

We are the only ballet school in North America providing elite dance training, academic instruction and residential care on one campus.
Our richly diverse mix of community initiatives, focusing on the combined power of movement and music, ensure Canadians of all abilities may share the magic of dance.

We are an elite school, producing the next generation of dancers, choreographers, teachers and artistic directors. Our holistic program allows students to achieve academic excellence while pursuing their artistic dreams.

For over fifty years we have trained dancers, teachers, choreographers and artistic directors.

Talent is the only criteria for entry into the professional ballet program.

NBS’s inclusive community programs make ballet a transformative experience for people of all ages and abilities.

Ballet classes for children and adults are available at NBS’s Jarvis Street location.
Every year, Artistic staff travel across Canada offering classes and workshops for students, teachers and students with special needs Our Dancing with Parkinson’s program helps those living with Parkinson’s Disease to alleviate their symptoms through dance. Combined with a groundbreaking study with faculty from York and Ryerson Universities, neuroscientific research on the connection between dance and Parkinson’s is moving forward.

Through NBS is creating comprehensive dance resources to make dance easy to learn, accessible and fun for kids and adults across Canada.
