Freeing Minds, Feeding Spirits, and Building Community

Right across from Burlington’s picturesque downtown waterfront, the Art Gallery of Burlington is a unique destination for visitors of all ages. The gallery staff, resident artists, and volunteers all collaborate to make the AGB a place where creativity thrives.

The AGB is home to the largest public collection of contemporary Canadian ceramic art in the world and, at any given time, hundreds of objects from this collection may be on view.

In its temporary gallery spaces, the AGB offers an extraordinarily diverse program of exhibitions, including contemporary art, craft, and community art from Burlington and its surroundings.

While visiting the AGB, you might encounter artists and makers working in one of the gallery’s many studios. Weaving, spinning, pottery, sculpture, photography, rug hooking, fibre arts, woodcarving, and fine arts are all practiced on site at the AGB.

Located at the centre of the building is the Dan Lawrie Family Courtyard — a site of large-scale outdoor installations during the summer. The AGB conservatory is filled with exotic tropical plants and works of art for guests to explore year-round.

The AGB is also home to a gift shop unlike any other in the region, offering original handmade objects by over 250 Canadian artisans. Dozens of shopping, dining, and entertainment options are within easy walking distance of the Art Gallery of Burlington including Burlington Beach, Spencer Smith Park, and the Burlington Performing Arts Centre.

Come and take in experiences that free the mind and feed the spirit.
