Sea Island – Southern Hospitality at its Best

Since 1928, Sea Island has been known as an exceptional resort destination appealing to those who appreciate gracious service,
Southern hospitality, and an almost endless variety of outdoor experiences to enjoy year-round.

At Sea Island, guests play golf on three championship courses, including Seaside and Plantation, which is home to the RSM Classic, a FedEx Cup, PGA TOUR event. They hone their game at the Golf Performance Center, arguably the finest center in the U.S., which teaches students of all levels, from juniors just starting the game to touring professionals — two dozen of whom live and/or train at Sea Island. In summer, our experienced captains guide seasoned anglers and novices on our fleet of customized boats or the 39-foot Contender as they reel in whiting, flounder, speckled trout, jack crevalle, red fish, ladyfish, black drum and more, with inshore, offshore, and nearshore fishing.

Located on Georgia’s Atlantic coast, Sea Island also features five miles of private beach, an extensive Beach Club, five pools, tennis and squash centers, Yacht Club, Camp Cloister for kids ages 3 to 14, and the Shooting School, with a 5-stand sporting clays field, two skeet ranges and a trap field. The 65,000-square-foot spa and cutting-edge fitness centre provides an expert staff, therapists, consultants, traditional treatments, innovative technologies, fitness programs, state-of-the-art equipment, a full Pilates studio, and customized therapies. Nine restaurants range from casual oceanfront at Southern Tide to rustic Italian at Tavola to Forbes Five-Star at the Georgian Room, Georgia’s only restaurant to receive such honours. Horseback riding on the beach is a favoured activity, as is falconry. Guests may also enjoy nearby Broadfield, a Sea Island Sporting Club and Lodge, offering a variety of seasonal hunting, fishing, sporting and organic culinary opportunities.

When they are not enjoying the outdoors or dining, guests can choose to stay at The Cloister, with 265 rooms and suites with garden, ocean, and river views; The Lodge, a 43-room boutique hotel reminiscent of an English country manor, overlooking the Atlantic and nestled between two of Sea Island’s three golf courses; in a cottage on Sea Island, ranging from three to seven bedrooms; or at The Inn, a casual, select-service, 85-room hotel on nearby St. Simons Island, with access available to Sea Island facilities.
With four Forbes Five-Star experiences — The Cloister at Sea Island, The Lodge at Sea Island, The Spa at Sea Island, and the Georgian Room restaurant — Sea Island entices families, outdoor and activity enthusiasts, and those simply wanting to refresh and recharge. It is the only resort in the world to have received four Forbes Five-Star awards for 10 consecutive years.
