Reconnect with Nature with Sea Wolf Adventures

Born and raised surrounded by the majesty of British Columbia’s Great Bear Rainforest, Mike Willie has always felt a strong connection to his ancestral land. As a Musgamakw Dzawada’enuxw First Nation member, Mike’s upbringing in the remote Kingcome Inlet was unique to say the least. With no roads, cars, power, phones or TV, this tiny community of just 80 people was tucked away from the rest of the world.

Today, Mike works in cultural tourism and is a passionate educator of the aboriginal language and cultural revitalization. When he’s not running a water taxi or teaching, he’s operating Sea Wolf Adventures, providing travellers with the rare opportunity to reconnect with nature and learn about First Nations culture.

His all-in tour, Grizzly Bears of the Wild, is a First Nations Wildlife journey into the Great Bear Rainforest. Low volume tours take a maximum of six guests on an authentic adventure through the natural habitat of Western Canada’s grizzly bears. On this incredible tour you can spot grizzly bears along the shoreline, watch wolves roam the shell-strewn beaches, see eagles soaring overhead and Pacific white-sided dolphins dancing alongside the bow of your boat. This truly unforgettable wildlife experience ends in the Broughton Archipelago and Queen Charlotte Strait, where the gentle giants of the Pacific: migrating humpback whales are known to frequent. Along the way your tour guide will teach you about his language, Kwak’wala and some of the customs, stories and history of the Kwakwaka’wakw people.
